Want to go back to try other things even though we did expect many menu items there were a lot more that we did not get a chance to taste. So we will go back quite soon

The Butterfly Room is one of the restaurants at the Rosewood Hong Kong, named No.1 on The World's 50 Best Hotels 2025. （The information of the World's position of both The Butterfly Room and Rosewood Hong Kong is obtained from the website of Rosewood Hong Kong.) When you enter The Butterfly Room, you will be delighted with the artful decorations around. Together with the warm and friendly service from the staff, the excellent food quality, you couldn't be happier. Please have a look at the photos I uploaded, you will have an idea on what you are going to have from the tea set. Let the glamour speaks for itself. Below are some highlights: 1. About my visits: On Jun 18, 2026, a black rainstorm day, it was my second visit to the restaurant. My first visit was in early May, celebrating two friends' birthday there, I was highly impressed by the environment, the food and staff, so I decided to bring my cousins there again. No wonder, I got some delightful surprises. We have a live violin performance for two rounds, each round last for about 10 minutes. I found from the hotel's official website that they got the performance until 15 Sep 2026. Please refer to their website for the schedule. Another small change was about the fine ritual of Caviar table side preparation, from the mother-of-pearl spoon to the oval shape ice cream on top of the French Toast, finally a small butterfly decoration, actually a delicious crispy biscuit, is really lovely. Last time we do not have the small butterfly decoration. 2. Food Quality and Food Quantity: You will have food with creative designs, careful and thoughtful selection of ingredients. The harmonious taste of each and every single bite, is amazing. You will find the subtle details on the colour matching in between the Amuse Bouche and the Finger Sandwiches, and each one with the Artwork of Damien Hirst. I just want to focus on a few food items on the menu as I feel that there is no doubt about the real fine taste of each one. The Green Peas Soup got a sweet taste, there was a pop sound when biting the pea, showing its freshness. The Celeriac Pudding is one of my food restrictions items, I got a chocolate pastry instead, the pastry got a fine taste of chocolate and crispy contents. I did not take the Scottish Salmon as it is also one of my food restriction items, I got a tuna fish sandwich instead. It was good. I also did not take the caviar, the portion of mine was shared among my guests. The French Toast with ice cream, was delicious. The Parmesan Cruffin is crispy on the outside, the layers inside taste great. After eating the cruffin, we all got some crispy bits on the table, a waitress came over and clean up the table for us. The Hokkaido Chocolate Flan is delicately sweet, really nice. The scones were kept warm, nicely wrapped with a tea towel, together with the jam and cream, is more than pleasant. The Guava Lychee Cake got some fine bits of lychee, sweet and refreshing, the guava taste matches the lychee with a perfect fruit fusion. The Lemon Verbana Tartlet, is one if my favourite pastry, hope it is to be for sale at the Butterfly Patisserie. The mixing of sweet and sour taste is just good enough to excite your appetite after having the various food. For the drinks, you will be served with a selection of Mariage Freres tea, like the Black Tea, Green Tea, Puerh, Oolong, Herbal Tea, and other beverages such as coffee, chocolate etc. You will read the details of the tea cellar on the menu book upon your arrival. For the drinks like coffee or chocolate, a beautiful butterfly pattern was placed on the surface of the drink. I chose the Sweet Shanghai, one type of Green Tea, the tea was kept warm on a teapot warmer. For the food quantity, please prepare yourself with a rather empty stomach before arrival. It is because the quantity of the food that you are going to have is sufficient for both the lunch and afternoon tea, or if you take the tea set later in the afternoon, it will be good enough for both the afternoon tea and dinner. 3. Other food specialties from the hotel and shopping around: If you are interested in some other types of food, you can go to the hotel's website to find out more about the different restaurants in the hotel. You can go through the menus of each restaurant and you will find a suitable one. If you do not have time for the afternoon tea, it is also delightful to shop at the Butterfly Patisserie, to buy some tea or pastries, they got various types of tea for sale. eg. The Coconut Vodka Tea is a special one. Before you leave the hotel, remember to take photos outside the Flower Shop with the large and beautiful floral decoration. After visiting the hotel, you can spare some time to shop around at K11 Musea. 4. Food restrictions: If you have food restrictions, just let the restaurant know when you reserve your table, or upon your arrival. The restaurant will prepare food substitution for you and you will enjoy your food no less than the other guests. I have food restrictions, and was contented with what I had for the food substitutions. 5. Reservation: Whether you are a tourist or a local resident, I would highly recommend you to enjoy the afternoon tea set at The Butterfly Room. You can have your celebration for birthdays, anniversaries …. etc. Just let the restaurant know when you reserve your table. Apart from making reservation on the website, they accept phone reservation also, and the office hour is from 10 am to 8 pm. If you missed the time, you can leave a message for them to reply. This information is what I got from the reservation staff. 6. Parking: There is valet parking service, you will get complimentary parking hours for a required spending amount. Please ask for more information when you make your reservation. 7. Thanks to the hotel: Our appreciation and thank you to the staff involved in preparing the food, from design to final presentation, excellent work; to the staff serving the guests, they are polite, attentive, calm, with good presentation skills, excellent work also. Our special thanks to the valet parking staff, who parked my cousin's car safely under the bad weather. The lady lobby attendant who had accompanied my wheelchair guest until my arrival from another location, and she led us all the way through to the restaurant and let us settle down before she left. Another male lobby attendant who had led our way to K11 Musea after we finished our afternoon tea. And two other staff who had helped us to take group photos outside the Flower Shop. Credit goes to everybody working in the hotel, whether working level staff or management level staff, to keep up the strong team work. Wishing you all good health and happy life! Thank you.

Liked mostThe best hotel to stay in Hong Kong! We stayed at the Rosewood hotel for one night with our 10 year old daughter. The whole experience was incredible. We usually stay at the Four Season chain hotels overseas so our standard is very high. The whole reception team was super professional and helpful specialy Mustafa who looked after us. Our Premier harbour view room was spectacular with an absolutely stunning view. Breakfast was delicious, great selection of food and great servis. We would also highly recommend the Bluhouse restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel with healthy light food - Italian style providore. I would like to thank specialy to Alessandro and Hannah who looked after us in the restaurant. If you are looking for luxury, this is the place to stay.
