Comfortable stay in the city centre but service could be improved

Lo más valoradoThe bed was very comfortable and the room quiet. The hotel porter was very friendly and helpful. Wifi worked well and breakfast was generous and overall had a great selection.

Por mejorarDespite the good amenities, I would say that the service represents more of a 4 -star than 5-star hotel. Firstly, our room was not cleaned on one of the days, despite us being gone almost all day. The bed was not made or towels exchanged. Secondly, make sure to be at breakfast in good time before it ends: we saw several people being turned away as they arrived a couple minutes before the breakfast was set to finish. The staff also starts to clear things around the tables at exactly the time the breakfast ends, causing a lot of noise and the environment resembled a factory. Thirdly, some of the staff is a bit rude and clearly do not know how to speak to guests in a polite way. For example, when asked for more beans at breakfast, one waitress' answer was a simple "no" with rolling eyes. Fortunately, a slightly more senior-looking member of staff saw this, apologized and brought more beans. When we were checking out, we were offered a small discount on some laundry services or a free coffee due to the fact that our room was not cleaned the previous day. This, for a 5 star hotel, is not adequate enough in my opinion and they should be able to do better.
