Wonderful and magical. Loved it.

Liked mostBreakfast at the Anantara is really wonderful. Sumptuous breakfast with many choices, attentive and extremely friendly staff and the ambience magical. We stayed in a large, spacious room which beautifully combined classic charm with modern convenience.

Could improveJust the facilities at the spa... I think there is rationing of energy given the current environment which I am very sympathetic too, but the quality of products - shampoo and conditioner did not match the label.

Mixed Feelings

Liked mostThe impressive building is undoubtedly the main attraction, with its centerpiece being the reception and the hotel lounge inside—a truly breathtaking spot for a drink. The hallways and corridors are equally beautiful, as are the spa and the generous size of the rooms. That said, the Guest Relations team did an excellent job, and the overall staff were well-trained and remarkably professional despite the operational shortcomings

Could improveI have very mixed feelings about my stay. On one hand, the building itself is impressive, featuring a stunning lounge that's perfect for a drink, beautiful corridors, a great spa, and wonderfully spacious rooms. On the other hand, the experience was let down by poor housekeeping and outdated room technology—my air conditioning didn't, when I arrived. To make matters worse, basic requests like having the room cleaned were simply ignored. While I truly appreciated their swift service recovery, at this high price point per night, guests shouldn't have to rely on apologies—everything should simply work from the start. Lastly, while it is entirely outside the hotel's control and due to the specific area in Budapest, the immediate surroundings attract a noticeable number of loiterers and people sleeping on the street, which is worth keeping in mind.
