Overpriced for poor service

Liked mostThe location was very convenient, close to the train station. There is actually a tunnel from the train station that brings you all the way to the dead-end street in which the hotel is located. The room was very spacious. The breakfast was small but OK with hot and cold choices for many likings. Wifi was excellent. Upon departure, however, we were given an extra hour to vacate the room.

Could improveUpon arrival our room was ready, but because we arrived early the front desk wanted us to pay 60 AUD extra for entering the room early. So much for first impressions. Upon entering the room we immediately spotted long hair from previous guests in the room, so there is no in-depth cleaning between guests or the cleaning staff is not checked upon, which is a management problem. However, their efforts to clean seemed genuine. The only drawback was that they almost systematically came for room service when we were in the room, at times late in the afternoon when we were back from being away for hours. We wonder whether it was a strategy to be told "no it's OK for today". The coffee in the breakfast buffet was terrible.
